262. Josiah LITTLEFIELD. Josiah was baptized in Wells, York, ME, in 1715. Cause of death: LFNL.

Research: [From LFNL, vol. 8, p.40]: "Sold Mar. 23, 1769 to Col. Donnell of Portsmouth, NH, Ogunquit Farm descended from father John being 2/5 of 2 shares of common land and 2/5 shares assigned his grandmother, the wife of Malachi Edwards. York Deeds 42:75"

On 30 Nov 1738 Josiah married Elizabeth BEALE.

263. Jeremiah LITTLEFIELD. Jeremiah was baptized in Wells, York, ME, on 17 Jul 1720. Jeremiah died in 1788 in Hallowell, ME. Cause of death: LFNL 2/1/6.

264. Tabitha LITTLEFIELD. Tabitha was baptized in Wells, York, ME, on 14 Jun 1721. Cause of death: LFNL 2/1/6.

265. Stephen LITTLEFIELD. Stephen was baptized in Wells, York, ME, on 28 Oct 1722. Cause of death: LFNL 2/1/6.

268. Elijah LITTLEFIELD. Elijah was baptized in Wells, York, ME, on 10 Oct 1731. Cause of death: LFNL 2/1/6.

269. Elisha LITTLEFIELD. Elisha was baptized in Wells, York, ME, on 14 Oct 1733. Cause of death: LFNL 2/1/6.

270. Eliab LITTLEFIELD. Eliab was baptized in Wells, York, ME, on 9 May 1731. Eliab died on 4 Feb 1817 in Kennebunkport, ME. Cause of death: LFNL 2/1/6.

271. John LITTLEFIELD. Born on 18 Aug 1717 in Wells, York, ME. At the age of <1, John was baptized in Wells, York, ME, on 27 Feb 1717/1718. John died in Wells, York, ME, on 22 Jun 1784; he was 66. Buried in Unmarked Grave, Tatnic Rd., Wells, ME.

-(notes of Andrew G. Littlefield):John kept a journal which is now held by the Wells-Ogunquit Historical Society. In this journal he recorded family events and events from the Revolution, including the Convention at Saratoga. His son John (6) and John's (6) son Josiah (7b) alsowrote in this journal, which makes it very confusing to read and has many conflicting dates. Eventually I intend tohave a copy of it on-line.John fought in the Revolution and obtained the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was at Saratoga. His miltary record is:Major, 2nd York Co. regiment, MA militia; commissioned 30 Aug 1775.Chosen 1st Major, York Co. regiment, MA militia; commissioned 22 Apr 1776.Major, Lt. Colonel Joseph Storer's Brigade.Chosen Lt. Colonel 1st York Co. regiment, MA militia; commissioned 10 Jun 1778.He is buried in an unmarked grave in a pine grove on his old farm on Tatnic Rd., Wells, MEAbraham and Isaac are twins.

On 27 Nov 1742 when John was 25, he first married Deborah BICKFORD, in Wells, ME. Deborah died bef 1750.

On 3 Jan 1749/1750 when John was 31, he second married Susanna LITTLEFIELD (273) , daughter of Peter LITTLEFIELD (126) & Abigail STORER, in Wells, ME. Born in 1728 in Wells, York, ME. Susanna died in Wells, York, ME, on 27 Aug 1796; she was 68.
