Research: Research on connection to Annis family:
1. [Massachsetts and Maine families in the Ancestry of Walter Goodwin Davis, Vol 1; p. 34]: "There were four Annis girls married in Wells 1771-1777 who were unplaced. They must have been daughters of Nehemiah(4) or of his brother Stephen(4), or widows of Nehemiah's sons with marriages unrecorded. In Nehemiah's family there are spaces for unrecorded children in 1752 and 1758, and in Stephen's in 1752."
2. One son's name was Nehemiah and there was no child named Stephen
On 4 May 1771 Phoebe married Joseph LITTLEFIELD (564) , son of Ithamar LITTLEFIELD (326) & Margaret WILLIAMS. Born on 4 Jun 1749 in Wells, York, ME. Joseph died in Gardiner, ME, in Jan 1826; he was 76.
They had the following children:
543. Israel ANNIS. Israel died in Wells, York, Maine. Israel was baptized in Wells, York, Maine, on 12 Aug 1744.1
544. William ANNIS. William was baptized in Wells, York, Maine, on 3 Nov 1745.1
545. Nehemiah ANNIS.
