The Littlefield Family Newsletter

This wonderful newsletter is published four times a year and was started by Charles Littlefield Seaman, and his wife, Dorothy A. Keyes, both formerly of Ogunquit, Maine. Charles had been researching Littlefields in the United States for over 40 years and had literally thousands of names in his files!

Upon Charles' passing in August of 2003, Pete and Barb Woodbury, also of Ogunquit, picked up where the Seamans left off and are now the new publishers of the Littelfield Family Newsletter.

Edmund Littlefield left Titchfield, Hampshire, England around 1636 and he, his wife Annis (or Agnes) and their children eventually established their home and mills in what is now Wells, Maine. This is where it all started for close to 75% of the Littlefields in The United States. The Littlefield Family Newsletter currently covers the three distinct lines that have been established in the U.S.:

  1. Edmund of Wells, ME
  2. William of MD (Most Littlefields in the south are from this line.)
  3. John of Dedham, MA
The newsletter discusses the descendants of these lines not only through the research of the publishers, but also through subscribers' contributions. This is a bonafide FAMILY newsletter and nothing at all like those "___________'s Across America" books that give you nothing more than current mailing addresses of people with your surname. This newsletter is a vibrant interactive source of Littlefield information for anyone interested in this surname.
