The Last Will and Testament of Martha Littlefield (nee Wells)

Know all men by these presents, that I Martha Littlefield of Wells in the County of York and state
of Maine of sound mind and memory and being desirous to make disposition of my property do make
publish and declare the following as my last will and testament.
1st I give and bequeath to my two sons Joshua E and Erastus Littlefield my two wood lots in Wells
aforesaid bounded by land owned by George and Grafton Hatch, David G. Littlefield and others
containing eight acres more or less.
Also the one half of my homestead farm in said Wells in common and undivided between them to their
heirs and assigns forever.
2nd I give and bequeath to my son Oliver B. Littlefield the other half of my homestead farm above
named to his heirs and assigns forever.
3rd I give and bequeath to my son in law, Stephen Tobey my desk.
4th I give and bequeath to my Granddaughter Abbi Jane Greenleaf, my furs, my carpet, my best bed,
my earthen ware, my green silk skirt, and my Great Bible.
5th I give and bequeath to my granddaughters Mary Annie and Harriet Littlefield my two best bed
quilts, my silver spoons, my set of China Ware.
6th I give and bequeath to my granddaughter Mary Ann Page my six best chairs.
7th I give and bequeath to my granddaughters Delia and Marrion Hortense Littlefield all of my
woolen blankets and my blue and white bedspread.
8th I hereby constitute and make my two sons Joshua E and Erastus Littlefield my residnary
legaties to have and to hold all of my property not above conveyed to others.
Lastly I do constitute and appoint my son Joshua E Littlefield sole Executor of this my last will
and testament he paying all my debts funeral charges and expenses of the Probate of this my last
will and testament in testamonty whereof I have hereinto sett my hand and seal this twenty second
day of June in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight.
Signed and sealed by the said Martha Littlefield and by her declared to be her last will and
testament in our presence and we and each of us in her presences and in the presence of each other
at the same time subscribed our names as witnesses.
